Note An A-frame over rock at the mouth of a small river below the old railway line, just south of Ortona — surfed since the mid-1990s and listed among the best Italian waves by the European Surfrider Guide.

Hazards

ROCK BOTTOM The A-frame breaks over rock — know the lineup and entries before paddling out, booties recommended.
N/NE SWELL ONLY Works on N and NE swell, rideable with a north wind — a genuine winter-storm spot, flat otherwise.
NATURE RESERVE Sits inside the Punta dell'Acquabella Regional Nature Reserve (est. 2007) — respect the protected coastal habitat on the walk in.
DEDICATED LOCALS A tight community has surfed this wave for 30+ years — one of Adriatic Italy's most respected lineups, show up humble.
