Hazards

CURRENT NW swells create strong lateral currents. Read the beach before entering.
RIP N/NW groundswell can build rip channels between the sandbars on bigger winter swells. If caught, swim parallel to the beach rather than straight in.
LOCALS Small but historic crew — Egypt's oldest surfing community, dating to the 1970s. Newcomers are welcomed but should still wait their turn.
POLLUTION Check water quality after heavy rain — Alexandria coastal waters can be affected.
