Note Porto Flavia cliff mine is visible from the beach — unique backdrop. The mining tunnels through the cliff are accessible (guided tours).

Hazards

CLIFFS Steep cliff faces surround the bay. Broken boards or injuries here are serious — nearest hospital is Iglesias (40km).
RIP Open Tyrrhenian swell builds a strong rip along the cliff base at Buggerru — paddle wide around it and use the channel at Portixeddu beach to get back in.
LOCALS Remote and lightly surfed — very few regulars, but show the usual respect to whoever's out given how small the scene is.
REEF Rocky reef near the cliffs — booties recommended. Sandy beach break at Portixeddu is safer.
