Hazards

REEF Sharp reef at all states of tide. Booties mandatory. Falls are punishing.
RIP Current runs along the reef edge on bigger NE swells — stay inside the channel next to the rocks rather than fighting it in the impact zone.
LOCALS Small, experienced reef crew — respected local surfers who know every section; watch a session before paddling out if it's your first time.
ROCKS Rocky entry and exit. Study the take-off zone before paddling out.

Local knowledge

Best tide Mid to high rising · low tide exposes reef dangerously
Peak season Oct–Mar · NE swells · Summer mostly flat
Swell key NE–E swell + W–SW offshore · Headland blocks onshore winds partially
Level Intermediate to advanced · Reef break · Not for beginners
Dawn patrol Arrive early — offshore conditions best before 10:00 before sea breeze kicks in
