37.609°N · 0.748°W

Getting there

From Cartagena · 20 km · 30 min
Airport Murcia Region Intl. (RMU) · 30 km · 35 min
Note Protected park — no services inside other than a summer lifeguard on the main beach. Bring everything you need. Access can be restricted in peak summer.

Parking

Cost Free
Surface Free at Cala Reona · Walk or shuttle into the park
Fills by Controlled in summer · Very quiet Oct–May
Walk to water 10–25 min depending on beach chosen
Facilities No services inside park · Lifeguard summer only

Hazards

ISOLATION No services, no rescue. Surf with a buddy. Mobile signal weak inside the park.
RIP Mild lateral current on NE swell days — the sandy bottom and open bay make it easy to walk or swim back in.
LOCALS Protected natural park with only a handful of regulars — a peaceful, uncrowded scene rather than a defended lineup.
ACCESS Summer vehicle restrictions — park closes when capacity reached. Plan accordingly.

Local knowledge

Best tide Mid to high rising · low tide exposes reef dangerously
Peak season Oct–Apr · Best when park is open and swell is running · Summer flat + restricted
Swell key NE–E swell · Multiple beach orientations so one usually works
Level Beginner to intermediate · Sandy bottoms · Stunning natural setting
Dawn patrol Park gate opens at 09:00 — arrive exactly then for best conditions before crowds
