Note 4WD vehicle absolutely essential. The Piscinas dunes are some of the tallest in Europe — up to 100m. A remote Saharan landscape by the sea.

Hazards

REMOTE Completely isolated — 25km from nearest town via unpaved track. This is a serious expedition. Tell someone your plans.
RIP Big Tyrrhenian swell can build a powerful rip through the beach's sandbar channels — read it from the dunes before paddling out, especially on bigger days.
LOCALS You'll likely have this isolated beach to yourself — essentially no local crowd to navigate.
SAND Soft sand in car park — vehicles can get stuck. Deflate tyres to 1.5 bar for the track.
