Getting there

From Tunis · 65 km · 1h via A1
Airport Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE) · 15 km · 20 min
Note Tunisia's best-known beach resort, on the Gulf of Hammamet — like Nabeul just up the coast, it's fully shadowed from Mistral and only lights up on a real Scirocco event.

Parking

Cost Paid in summer
Surface Beach concession + seafront car parks · Paid in season · ~200 spaces
Fills by Major resort town, very busy summer · Sep–Apr, wind-dependent for surf
Walk to water ~3 min
Facilities Full luxury resort infrastructure · Restaurants, medina, hotels

Hazards

SANDBAR Long flat sandy beach — like Nabeul, needs an active Scirocco event to produce anything rideable.
CROWDS Very busy resort beach in summer — genuine surf sessions happen far less often than the tourist crowds would suggest.
RIP Mild beach-break rip when the wind-swell is up — nothing unusual, but check conditions since lifeguard cover is inconsistent off-season.
SHORT-PERIOD DECAY Scirocco wind-swell here runs short 4–6 second periods and fades quickly once the wind eases — check live wind speed, not just a swell height number.

Local knowledge

Best tide Mid tide · rising
Peak season Sep–Apr · Needs an active E/SE Scirocco wind event · Fully shadowed from Mistral
Swell key E/SE Scirocco wind-swell only · Gulf of Hammamet, short-period (4-6s) · Best with offshore N/NW wind
Level Beginner · Sandy · Only really works while the Scirocco is actively blowing
Dawn patrol Same rule as Nabeul: the wind needs to be blowing right now, not just forecast — this wind-swell doesn't hold once it drops.
