Hazards

SHALLOW REEF Very shallow reef at low tide — wipeouts can result in reef contact. Advanced surfers only.
RIP NW swell pushes a powerful rip off the reef's outer edge — advanced surfers use it to get back to the peak fast, but it demands respect on bigger days.
LOCALS Tight local crew who know every section. Pay respect — don't paddle out uninvited on your first day.

Local knowledge

Best tide Mid to high rising · low tide exposes reef dangerously
Peak season Oct–Apr · NW swell 1.5m+ · Hollow reef break · One of Med's best waves
Swell key NW swell + N offshore = perfection · Shallow reef produces hollow sections · Works 1.5–3m
Level Advanced · Shallow reef · Local knowledge essential · Not for beginners or intermediates
Dawn patrol Dawn patrol only on big days — by 09:00 the crew is full. Check conditions from the headland before paddling.
