Note Lara Bay is a protected turtle nesting area — DO NOT disturb marked nests or nesting turtles. No camping on the beach May–Oct (nesting season). 4WD essential.

Hazards

TURTLES Protected turtle nesting site. Never disturb nests or turtles. Surfing permitted but stay away from marked zones.
RIP SW winter swell builds a current in this open bay — with no lifeguards and few surfers around, read it carefully before paddling out alone.
LOCALS Remote and rarely surfed — you'll often have Lara Bay to yourself.
REMOTE 4WD essential. No phone signal in parts. Self-sufficient required.
