Hazards

SANDBAR Sandy centre of the bay with rockier points either side — check both for the best conditions.
ROCKS The points at each end of the bay are rocky — know your line if surfing there rather than the sand.
LOCALS Friendly Cinque Terre-area crowd, mixed with tourists in season.
SW/W SWELL WINDOW Needs a real SW/W Libeccio swell to wrap properly into the bay — often smaller than Varazze.
