Hazards

STRONG WIND Meltemi here regularly blows 20-30kt — genuinely powerful conditions, not for first-timers on a big day.
SANDBAR SHIFT The connecting sandbar changes with the swell and season — the two sides (Aegean/Mediterranean) can have very different wave and wind character on the same day.
CROWDS One of Europe's best-known kite/windsurf destinations — expect a packed lineup and launch area in peak Meltemi season.
CROSS-SHORE WIND Wind is typically cross-shore to side-onshore on the Aegean side — manageable but respect the gusts near the point.
