Hazards

SANDY & SAFE Sandy seafloor without large rocks — genuinely beginner-friendly, unusual for Salento.
MAESTRALE SIDE The Ionian coast of Salento works best on NW Maestrale wind, with Scirocco as the secondary window.
SUMMER CROWDS A major summer resort beach — the surf season is effectively the off-season, when it empties out.
KITE TRAFFIC The Torre San Giovanni–Gallipoli stretch is a busy kitesurf zone — keep clear of launch areas on windy days.
